2003 Reserve Petite Sirah Wine Russian River Valley

Made from vines planted in 1991, this full-bodied wine is elegant and concentrated with sweet black cherry and cassis. Finishes with earthy cedar, leather and mint. Sold in 6-bottle cases.

• TASTING NOTES

Bud break came early in 2010 and this vintage was colder than many in Russian River's recent history.Plenty of fog and very little heat filled the summer days. This weather produced an invigorating, New Zealand-style Sauvignon Blanc with lively acidity and loads of citrus fruit. Aromas of green grass, grapefruit and orange blossoms give way to stone fruit, lemon-lime and clean linen on the palate. A very refreshing, food friendly wine.

• WINEMAKER NOTES

Rich aromas of mulberry give way to hints of bergamot mint and cedar spice. The earthy bouquet displays elegant vanilla bean. Bouquet is matched with comparable character in the flavors. The finish is long and lingering with flavors of cassis and trailing subtle mint.

• VINEYARD NOTES

The 2003 Foppiano Vineyards Estate Reserve Russian River Valley was made from fully mature fruit from the Block-1 vineyard, planted in 1991.
